Where do I even begin?

ICEC was the family I never knew we needed.

I was just a mom who had some concerns for my son with what seemed like a speech delay. With no diagnosis or referral from a pediatrician, I scrolled through my phone and dialed number after number, all who answered the same way, “we have no opening for 6 to 7 months.” I had just about given up until the last number I had left a voicemail with called me back. She asked if I ever heard about the Regional Center and it’s services to which I replied, no. It was from there that we found the wonderful people at ICEC. My husband and I really had no clue what we were walking in to, but thought we would give it a shot. Our son, Wes, was hesitant for maybe one or two visits before he felt like those girls were his friends and that place was like home!

The leaps and growth he has made since attending group has been significant.

His interaction with other kids and even adults has also improved.

He used to be such a shy little boy, and now he greets people with confidence and a smile. It’s been so rewarding to see the growth he has made in less than a year!

The women who teach in group are amazing. They each greet the kids with the biggest smile and are so caring and loving. You can see that they love their job when they interact with the kids. Pam, the director, is so involved. She has attended multiple parent sessions to guide us through the next steps as our child transitions to preschool or their next school setting. ICEC even has support for the parents. I have attended the Monday parent sessions with Jacqueline almost every week. It is a safe place to share with other parents and also laugh and take a break! Jacqueline is truly the perfect person to lead those parent meetings. She brings such a calming presence and made me feel comfortable from the start. I will miss Monday’s tremendously as we approach our end date with ICEC. I have to mention the sibling support too! My older son, Noah, attends preschool 2 days a week so Monday’s we had no options for him except for to tag along. To say he loves it is an understatement. What a blessing to have that available to parents who are in a bind.

Bottom line, this place is pure magic and the people in it are the ones who make it all happen.
